Amble Amble The Tithe Plan 20 Chains east of A straggling Village of recent origin
Amble Co Voters List Gloster Hill most of the houses having been erected during
Amble Revd. J.W. Dunn the last 20 years. it contains several
Chapels, numerous public houses &c &c.
the only antiquity is the Monastery. a
Roman Road is said to have been laid bare
for a short distance when making excavations
the Vicar of the Parish thinks it is doubtful if it
was a Roman Road. where it came from or
whither it went I cannot find out consequently it
is not shewn on Plan
Gloster Hill Gloster Hill White’s Directory 20 Chains west of A large Farmhouse with extensive
Gloster Hill Mr. Hornsby west end of outbuildings, gardens &c several of which
Ancient Gateway Gloster Hill Mr. Graham Amble Village are old & ruinous. Formerly this must
(Remains of) Gloster Hill Revd. J.W. Dunn have been a place of some importance
judging by a fine old gateway the pillars

Gas Works Mr. Richardson, Amble east of in which Gas to supply the Villages of
Gas Works Revd. J.W. Dunn Gloster Hill Warkworth & Amble is manufactured
dedicated to the Sylvan Mothers
