Chapel Well Mr. Arthur Storey. of Cowtenwood tradition states that near this place
Chapel Well Mr. Wilkinson there was a Chapel & burial ground
likewise within the memory of Mr.
Armstrong of Low Highriggs there were
numerous Cairns of stones no doubt each
marking the site of some person’s last resting
place. the site of the Chapel cannot be
given and all the Cairns were used
building Walls &c. at the enclosure of
Shitlington Common.
