Camp British Camp Mr John Thompson 26 Chains South An Ancient Military Camp which
(remains of) British Camp Mr. Edward Thompson of High Warden appears to have been of Minor
British Camp McKenzie’s History importance, the work of the British
British Camp Bruce’s Memoir of Roman Wall Its area is very small, it is sur-
British Camp McLauchlans Memoir & Plan of Roman Wall rounded by a deep Trench, which is
quite visible, there is the Remains of
The Extracts from Bruces Roman Wall Gateways on the East & West
and McLauchlan’s Memoir on the opposite page 95 refer to this Camp as well as sides all of which are Carefully in-
the other serted on the Plan. it appears to
have been defended by an earthen
rampart, as no visible remains of a
Wall can be seen. Neither can the
rampart be much noticed not
sufficient to be etched on the
plan.
