River Tyne River Tyne Greenwoods County Map The River Tyne is composed of two Streams
River Tyne Hodgson’s Histy of Northumberland which unite at Nether Warden. Called respectively
River Tyne Whites Directory the North Tyne & the South Tyne. After the
junction of the two streams the River flows
in an Easterly direction into the North Sea.
The tides rise to a little distance above
Newburn, which is 18 miles from the Mouth
of the River and it is navigable for about the
same distance from the Sea.
