North Crag North Crag Matthew Roblinson 3 chains South A very steep bank covered with
North Crag Mr. Harrison of Ingoe Pit heather & large rocks situated at the North
North Crag Mr. Russell of Ingoe Village. At the West
end of this bank where the Trig.
Station now stands it is supposed
by the villagers there was a Roman
Station, when the field was ploughed
about 20 years since one of the work
men found a spear head made of
brass from what I can learn from
the man that was at the ploughing up
of the field it was merely a mound of
Earth so it is probable it was no
more than a beacon or watch station
used at the time of the Scotch
invasions
