Camp Camp Mr. Errington 8 Chains North of The Remains of an ancient camp, of peculiar
(Remains of) Camp Mr. W Taylor the Roman Wall form. the southern portion (which is about
Camp Mr Thompson two thirds of the Camp) is quite oval. the
remaining part represents a circular form.
the area of the first mentioned appears to
have raised, as it is some feet above the
surface. an earthen rampart surrounds
it (the large area) forming a Ditch, the
top of the rampart is about one foot below
the level of the interior. The Circular portion
is much sunken beneath the area of the oval
part. there is the apparent remains of gateways
on the North East and west sides. which are
Carefully shewn. from the information received
on the ground and the general appearance of this
feature. I am of the opinion there is no doubt but
what it is the remains of a British Camp
