Campfield Campfield Revd Saml Tyler On Sheet A small farm steading close by the side
John Collingwood Esqr 9.15 of the North Eastern Railway, about 3/4 of a mile
Tithe Map from the village of Cornhill. It derives its name
from a field on the farm which bears evidence
of some antiquities of a peculiar character.
The proprietor is J. Collingwood Esqr.
Camp Field Camp Field Revd Saml Tyler On Sheet In this field are several remains of a very
John Collingwood Esqr 9.15 peculiar and interesting character. a large
Northumberland Directory round Knoll which is supposed to be of artificial
construction, corresponding hollows are now existing
whence the earth appears to have been excavated
for the formation of it. in other parts of this
field are several artificial cuttngs resembling
Terraces more than intrenchments. A corresponding
Knoll similar in appearance to the one mentioned
stood at a short distance but was
levelled by the formation of N. E. Railway
in the interior was found a great quantity
of human remains which were not disturbed.
Duddo Burn Duddo Burn Revd Saml Tyler On Sheet A small stream which forms the
John Collingwood Esqr 9.11 & Boundary between Carham and Norham
Tithe Map 9.15 Parishes. It flows into the River Tweed
near Cornhill House.
