Camps (Ancient) Mr. Alexr Thompson These Camps situated on the east
(Remains of) side of "The Bell" hill, and W. of the
College Burn, are not well known
being faint and nearly obliterated,
but there is no doubt of their being
Camps. they can be seen better at a
distance than close to them.
It is very doubtful as to these enclosures
having been Camps. the name is therefore
omitted.
West Hill West Hill Mr. A. Thompson On Sheet A low hill 4- or 500 feet high
Mr. J. Ross 19. 1 about 1/2 a mile W. of St Gregory’s
Estate Map Hill, and having on the summit
a large well defined Camp of
two ramparts, with several small
circles inside, supposed to mark the
sites of the Huts or residences of the
people who inhabited the Camp.
