Earth Works Hodgson’s Hist. Northd they are composed of earth, and
are open at the N.W. end & partially
enclosed at the S.E.
Mr Hodgson says "perhaps they
were raised for enclosing a fish
or mill pond"
Mr Hodgson in describing the Township of Ray Says
there are several earth works in this Township one
in wet ground immediately west of the houses of Ray
and consisting of two mounds as above described J.D.
