says "A few years since a large
Tumulus situated about a hundred yards
to the South of the road from Capheaton to White
House and near the East side of the way
from Kirkharle to Kirkheaton was opened and a Copper Vessel,
two fibulae, a finger ring, and a great quantity of bones found in it"
Hodgson who lived nearby within sight of the Tumulus is an
unquestionable authority
