feet, according to Sir
Thomas Brisbane Bart.
From this point the Cheviots
run in a S West direction
by Carter Fell, altitude 2020 feet, to "Peel Fell", in latt:
55. 17′ 0", and West long: 2. 35′ 0".
The principal pass in the range, is that known by the
name of Carter Bar, by which the road from Jedburgh
to Newcastle enters England.
