R Smith 25. 5 rectangular formation, consisting of two
Estate Map ramparts about 9 feet high with a
deep fosse between. It is supposed
from the form, that it is of Roman
origin.
Lil Burn Lil Burn Chas Moffat Esqr. On Sheets A small rivulet rising on the East foot
Estate Map 25. 1 of Hedgehope Hill, and running east, joins
Directory 25. 2 the river Till after passing Lilburn Tower.
25. 5 The name applies, only from the boundary of
25. 9 & Ilderton, with Threestone Burn, downwards.
24. 12 As, within the latter property, it is known by the
same name, i.e. Threestone Burn.
