R Smith 25. 5 S. W. of South Middleton, hence the
R Smith Junr name.
Southmiddletonmoor – Compounded
Southmiddleton Southmiddleton Dean George Rea Esqr. On Sheet A wild deep glen on the N. side of the
Dean R. Smith 25. 5 Lil Burn, & East of Southmiddleton Moor
C. Moffat Esqr. It is all but impassible except for Sheep, being
so full of natural wood & ferns, and very
steep & rugged.
Camp Camp (Remains of) Mr. Wm Davidson On Sheet The remains of a strong Camp on a peninsula
(Remains of) Richd Smith 25. 5 formed by the Lil Burn, and a small stream
Estate Map from the westward. It is defended on the S.W.
by a strong rampart 10 feet high, all the
other sides being unapproachable from
the natural stepness of the ground.
