Camp Camp (British) Mr McLauchlin’s Map – on Sheet Whether this had more than
(Remains of) (Faint (Remains of) for the Duke of 7.1 one mound around or not, I cannot
Northumberland say, as it is nearly obliterated
(no other authorities) by the action of the plough &c.
(could be obtained ) It appears to have been of
small dimensions, and quite
circular. It is situated, on,
rising ground, on the E. side,
of Haggydean Burn.
There is not one in the
neighbourhood that knows
anything about it. –
Monument Monument Revd Hugh Evans on Sheet A small monument erected
Monument Mr Edward Pringle 7/1 at Richardson’s Stead, by the
Monument Mr Matthew Young Pitmen, engaged at "Scremerston
Colliery" as token of esteem
for the late Major Johnson.
It is said to have been a very
neat one, but there is only a small
portion of it now standing, the top
part, having been blown down
by a gale of wind a few years ago.
There is neither Date nor Inscription
on it –
