Mr Matthew Young It was erected in 1843 at a cost
of about £1,000 – it is seated
for 350, 280 of which are free.
It is situated at "Richardson’s
Stead" – in the township of
Scremerston, and about 2 1/2
miles south of Berwick –
there is a small burying ground
attached. It is in the arch-
deaconry of Lindisfarne, and
deanery of Norham, Patron,
the Dean and Chapter of
Durham, Revd Hugh Evans
