on an eminence east of Spittal
and a short distance from the
German Ocean. It is the property
of Mr Fair, Berwick, and is now
commonly called "Fair’s Stead"
Scremerston Scremerston Old Mr Edward Pringle,Borewell on Sheet There was a Coalpit worked
Old Enginehouse Enginehouse Mr George Dick, Rate Collector 4.13 here (the shaft being still open)
Alexr Lowrey Esq Berwick and in this house, the pumping
&c Engine was erected. It is now
converted into dwellings, having small
gardens attached. It is the property
of Greenwich Hospital –

Incline Mr George Dick,Rate Collector leading from Scremerston Colliery to
Alexr Lowrey Esq Berwick the North Eastern Railway. and commences
at "Inclinehouse" and terminates at
the latter, the full Waggons going
down, bring up the empty ones to
Inclinehouse from whence they are
brought by horses to the Colliery –
