Robert’s Lodge Robert’s Lodge Cut in ston over door on Sheet A small inferior dwelling
Robert’s Lodge Mr George Dick 4.13 having small garden, and
Robert’s Lodge Mr Matthew Sibbit outhouse attached, this name
Robert’s Lodge Rate Book was given to it at its erection
by the then proprietor. It is
the property of Mr Dickson
Easington Grange, near "Belford"
King’s Quarry King’s Quarry Mr George Dick on Sheet A large Freestone Quarry,
Mr Matthew Sibbit 4.13 on the southwest side, of
Rate Book the Turnpike road, leading
from Berwick, to Etal &c Belford
and about a mile 1/4 from
the former; it has been
very extensively worked, but
has been discontinued for
sometime, "Tweedmouth
Cemetery". has been made in
a portion of this Quarry –
Tradition says, that, the
Bridge across the "Tweed between
Tweedmouth & Berwick, was
created by order of James I. (6th of Scotland)
and that, it was from this Quarry the Stones
were taken for the purpose (hence the name)
