Monastery Monastery Mr R Stamp on sheet On the south side of the ruins of the

nothing definite concerning the period
of their erection is known, as the buildings in
connection with the Monastery were
frequently destroyed; and the latest
occupants of the retreat are sup-
posed to be the Benedictine order
of Monks attached there to the Prior
of Durham.
