receives the waters of the
River Glen, which river is
formed by the united streams
of the Bowmont Water and
the College Burn – From
this point it continues in the same general direction
passes through this Parish, enters Norham Parish a little
below New Etal, & empties itself into the Tweed, about a
mile West of Twizell Castle, & 11 miles by road, above
Berwick upon Tweed –
It is a rather sluggish, slow running stream,
in many places deep and dangerous, but presents
many places favorable to the Angler –
