Supposed Remains Bran’s Walls Mr Davidson of Scalp The remains of what appears to be
of Bran’s Walls Mr Nicol two British Camps, the present
Camp remains consist of an external
mound of earth & Stones bolder &
better defined on the Western Side,
In its their interior are several irregular
Mounds, locally the present name is
derived from the tradition that this
was the residence or stronghold of an
old Border Chief Called Brandy
Leish abbreviated Bran – who is said
to have been the Brother of a still more
Celebrated Chieftain Called the
"Coule of Keilder", its situation
is very good for getting an extensive
view. I am unable to vouch for
these remains being of British Origin
but their appearance on trace may
settle this question
