Newton Haven St Mary’s Haven Estate map, In the possession of 22.15 the rocks, which is formed bounded by the
John Railston Esqr. N. Sunderland "Emblestone" and Fills" Ledges on the
St Mary’s Haven James Blair, Inn Keeper southward, and eastward, and
St Mary’s Haven Mr. James Patterson Inn Keeper by Newton Point to the northwards
St Marys or } adopted It has from 11 to 12 feet water over
Newton Haven } it at low water, but is exposed to
a heavy sea in strong gales blowing
from N.N.E to east – (Vide North Sea
Pilot, Part 3, Page 27 – )
Coastguards Coastguards Station Edwd Flemming (Chief Officer) On Sheet A row of 8 neat cottages, built of
Station Coastguards Station Mr. Ralph Pringle – 22.15 brick, and painted black, and
Coastguards Station Mr. William Chirnside, Farmer each, having a small garden
Newton – attached, they were built by
Coastguards Station Mr. James Blair the government, but a ground
rent is paid to Capt. Potts, for the
land occupied by them –
Watch House Watch House Same Authorities On Sheet A neat small house, situated on
(Coast Guards) 22.15 an eminence, near to the Sea Shore,
and Commands a view of the Sea
for a Considerable distance north, and
south, and also to the offing. It was
erected by the government on ground rented from Capt. Potts –
