Blakehope Burn Mr. Oliver White Crag rising on the Boundary between Falstone &
Blakehope Burn Mr. Ord Elsdon Parish it is a small stream for the
first mile and a half and at about this distance
it receives numerious small tributaries from
the junction of Ellis Cleugh it then assumes
the caracture character of a Burn for further conformation
Concerning this Burn is decribed in another plan until it joins the River Rede
Witch Holes Witch Holes Mr. Anderson 43 chains E of This is a steep rocky precipice situated
Witch Holes Mr. Oliver White Crag on both sides of the Blakehope Burn
Witch Holes Mr. Ord with a few small ancient old forest trees situated
on the top of the precipice it has a Very dreary
appearance but the natives inhabitants cannot furnish
any information how it attained the name
