house is pleasantly situated on the summit
of a rocky eminence & commanding an
extensive view of the Valley of the Rede.
This house has been built for a
Shooting Lodge, & has been occupied in
the summer season this last 12 years by
several different Gentlemen.
Dyke Head Dyke Head Mr. Robson 37 Chains South East A small Farm House in a good state of
Dyke Head Mr. Amus of Hillock. repair, with outhouses, garden, & yard
Dyke Head Mr. Hunter Mr. Mc.Lauchlan shows attached. The Roman road leading from
Dyke Head White’s Directory a tumulus a little to the Watling Street to Hollystone passes
Dike Head Mac Lauchlans Map of South East of this House immediately on the south side of this House
the Roman Way on the Plan of Watling
Street. This has been
opened by some members
of the antiquarian
society and declared
to be nothing but an
natural mound. No
