Tumulus Tumulus McLauchlans Plan & Memoir 40 Chains North This object until recently Consisted
Tumulus of Watling Street East of Tofts of a conical Mound, Situated at the
Tumulus Messrs Thompson of West end of Troughend Hall. In order
Troughend Hall to improve the garden Messers Thompson
had this Mound opened out and in doing so the
workman discovered a quantity of peculiar Stones
together with some bones which crumbled into dust
when handled
