Minsteracres Mr J W Bewick N. W. of Newfield. Henry C Silvertop Esq. surrounded with
Minsteracres Estate Plan extensive pleasure grounds and plantations
Minster Acres Hall Whellan’s Directory which extends into the Parish of Shotley.
Minsteracres List of Co Voters It is supposed that this place has formerly been a
Minster-Acres White’s Directory religious place of worship having a few acres
of land attached prior to the enclosure of the
farm on which probably gave rise to the name.
St George’s Well St Georges Well H C Silvertop Esq. About 19 chains N. E. An excellent spring well tastefully set
St Georges Well Mr J W Bewick of Minsteracres. in and covered with stone it is frequently
St Georges Well Mr R Harker called Ladle well from the ladle and
Ladle well Estate Plan chain being attached. Not an
antiquity.
RC Chapel RC Church H C Silvertop Esq. Adjoining Minsteracres A beautiful gothic structure in the
RC Church Mr J W Bewick on the South. decorated style consisting of a nave from which
RC Church Whellan’s Directory the Sanctuary is railed off and is lighted by six
RC Chapel Mr Wm Lawson windows filled with excellent specimens of
stained glass and adorned with a beautiful
clock turret and spire and will accommodate
about 200 persons erected in 1853 at the sole expense
of the owner of the mansion and dedicated to
St Elizabeth.
