Belsay Mr. Watson of Newcastle. This Village was recently
Belsay Whites Directory built by the present proprietor Sir
Charles Monck & consists of Several
handsome cottages together with a
Terrace of houses known as the Arcade
from their peculier shape of architecture.
It has been recently proposed to
establish a weekly market in this Village
for which purpose a wooden shed has
been erected attached to the Castle Inn
to be used as a market house
