Bedlington Cemetery George Marshall Esqr 12 Chains South West This place was opened last year (1857) and is appro
Mr Robert Swan of Ridge End priated for the burial of the Parishioners. The
Reverend Mr Whitley MA ground consisting of about 6 acres was a free
grant of the Bishop of Durham’s. The Chapel,
a small neat stone structure, was erected by sub
scription. And the wall enclosing a part of it to
gether with the drainage were executed by a rate
levied on the Parishioners
Blue House Mr Thomas Hall 13 Chains West of So named from the tiles on its roof bearing
Mr Lishman Netherton Colliery a bluish hue. A good stone house built in
Mr Robertson 1716. The house is now divided into 2 tenements
the one occupied by Mr Hall Farmer the other by
Mr Robertson under viewer at Netherton Colliery
There are 7 or 8 Cottages immediately adjoining to which
the name is also applied
