been Completely renovated – even the Keep, a high massive, Castleated tower, |

the walls of which, are 12 feet in thickness at the base, has quite a | ||||||
Modern look, the outside having | ||||||
been all redressed. Inside this tower there is a well, about 162 feet | ||||||
deep, 75 feet of which was Cut, | ||||||
through the Solid Rock, this well was discovered in 1770, when lowering, the | ||||||
floor, one of the Trustees | ||||||
Constantly Resides in this tower, And there |

Sailors, should so many | ||||||
be cast ashore at the same time. And there is a large Gun |

beach which is fired, when a | ||||||
Wrecks take |

There are within the Castle, a Dispensary, where Medicines, are dispensed | ||||||

are sold at little more than first Cost, | ||||||
there was also a Windmill, in which Corn was ground, And Sold to the poor, at, | ||||||
4 shillings a Bushel | ||||||
(even in the dearest times.) but this has been discountinued. | ||||||
