From its appearance, it would appear, to have been built at different periods, but, | ||||||
the date of its erection is unknown, but there is mention of a Church, being here, | ||||||
as early as 651 . It is a Perpetual Curacy, in the Archdeaconry of Lindisfarne, |

And deanery of Bamburgh, Patrons, the trustees of the late Lord Crewe. Incumbent | ||||||

wall of which, now forms part of the boundary of the churchyard, and there was a small | ||||||
portion of this building, standing entire, in the recollection of some old men still living, and | ||||||
was then known, as the, "Organ Stable", |

stones, of which, are still remaining in the wall, This must have been one of the Religious | ||||||
