Lord Crewe’s Arms Lord Crewe’s Arms Board On Sheet A Neat, Inn, in the village
Lord Crewe’s Arms Miss Henry. Tenant 16.8 of Bamburgh, having good
Lord Crewe’s Arms Chas Taylor Esqr. Stabling attached. And is
Mr H. Ross fitted up, with every convenience
for the accommodation, of
parties visiting this place during
the Summer months for the
purpose of Sea bathing &c.
It is the principal Inn of the
Village and is the property of
the Trustees of the Late Lord Crewe
Mizen Head Mizen Head Estate Map On Sheet A Slight elevation at the Southwest
Mizen Head Mr. James Dunse 16.8 end of the Village of "Bamburgh", and
Mizen Head Mr. Wm Carr is supposed to the place where,
Mizen Head Mr. Hugh Ross William Rufus, erected his Castle of Wood
when he beseiged, and Caused
the garrison of Bamburgh Castle to
Surrender in the year 1094.
This wooden erection he Called,
"Malvisine, Malus Vicinus" (or Bad
Neighbour) and "Mizen Head" must be
a corruption of the above.
