Tughall F.Holland Esqr. 22.10 having extensive offices, hinds’
Tughall R.C. Burnett Esqr. houses, and a small garden,
Tughall Mr. R.W. Fawdon – Tenant attached. This place constitutes
Tuggal No Authority the Village of Tuggal, but the
Tuggal Parish Name List P.45. farm was originally known
as Crook Letch. farm And
there is a small district, in
the farm still known by
the name of "Crook Letch".
It is The property of the Duke
of Northumberland.
Church Church Estate Map. On Sheet The remains of an Old Church
(Remains of) (Remains of) 22.10 of small dimensions, and a
Church F. Holland Esqr. portion of the walls of the
(Remains of) Chancel, only, being now standing.
Church R.C. Burnett Esqr. It is surrounded by a small Grave
(Remains of) Yard, the fence of which has
Church Mr. R.W. Fawdon – Tenant been removed. This Church,
(Remains of) is said to have been built
upon the place where the Monks,
rested with the body of St. Cuthbert, when
removing it from Holy Island, to
Durham, but whether it was dedi
-cated to that St. or not I could not be
ascertained.
