Priest’s Dean Priest’s Dean Peter Chirnside Esq. Newham Buildings On Sheets A portion of land sloping on both sides to
Priest’s Dean Andrew Mattison, Woodman to Sir John Haggerston 21 & Priestsdean Burn, on the North it is nearly
Priest’s Dean Mr. George Redpath. Newham 21.12 all cultivated and is the property of the
Duke of Northumberland, on the south it
is a Mixed Wood the property of Sir John
Haggerston (a Minor) Haggerston Hall.
It is stated that this Dean took
its name from their being a Priest
murdered in it, near the Trust
Road. It commences at the S.E.
corner of Commonflat Plantation &
ends close to Snipehill.

Priestsdean Burn Andrew Mattison, Woodman to Sir John Haggerston 21 & East side commencing at the S.E. of Commonflat Plantation

direction empties itself into "Long Nanny"
a short distance South of Horse Hill.

Snipehill Mr. George Redpath. Newham of Sir John Haggerston (a Minor) of
Belongs to Ellingham Parish. Haggerston Hall.
