Hannah’s Well Mr. Hugh Ross It is situated close to High Water
Mark; near the end of Wynding
Lane, the spring being first discovered
by an old woman Named Hannah
who lived in a Small Cottage. on the
Sand hills here, (hence the name,)
Postern Nook Postern Nook Mr. William Carr On Sheets A deep, hollow, in the Sandhills
16.8 & close to high water Mark, and on
17.5 the North of, and Close to, Sallyport
Well, (This Name is now only Known
to Mr Carr, who is between 70 and 80
years of age,) & who states that, it was
well Known, when he was a boy.
Newlands Burn Newlands Burn Mr. Jos. Paterson. Easington On Sheets A considerable Stream bearing this
Mr. Aud. Grey, Newlands. 16.9 name from the Turnpike Road
Mr Thomas Wightman 16.10 near Belfordmoor, & flowing in
Belfordmoor 16.11 & an Easterly direction falls into
16.15 Waren Burn.
