Newham Newham Estate Map. On Sheet A small, scattered, Village, Situated
Newham Whellan’s Directory 21.8 on an eminence, about 7 miles south
Newham Mr. William Archbold -east of "Belford". It contains, a small
Newham Revd M. Thompson. grocer’s shop, farm buildings, a few
neat and substantial Cottages, and
a schoolhouse, which is used as
a Presbyterian place of worship on
Sundays. It is The property of the
Duke of Northumberland.
School School Estate Map. On Sheet A small, neat Schoolroom, in the E.
Whellan’s Directory 21.8 end of Newham Village, it is a mixed
Mr. William Archbold school, and the children, are taught
Revd M. Thompson. Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic.
There is now endowment, but the Duke
gives the School Room free of Rent, and
a house for the Teachers Residence at a
nominal rent. This place is used as a
Presbyterian place of worship on Sundays.
