(Sheep Wash) Cracker Pool John Railston Esqr. 22.1 and which is used as a place
Cracker Pool Mr.N.D.Calder – for washing sheep &c. It is situated
Elford about 1/2 a mile southwest of
"Elford"; This pool, gives name
to the burn in which it is situated
for a short distance. (Origin of
name unknown.)
Crackerpool Crackerpool Burn Estate Map On Sheet A small rivulet, having its
Burn Crackerpool Burn John Railston Esqr. 22.1 source, in "Brada Bog", near
Crackerpool Burn Mr.N.D.Calder – "Brada Hill", its principal course
Elford being in a southeast direction.
It does not bear any specific
name until it comes to "Cracker
Pool", and gets the name from
there only to where it enters
the township of Fleetham, where
it takes the name of "Swinhoe Burn"
Wently Knowe Wently Knowe Estate Map On Sheet A slight hill feature, in
Wently Knowe Mr. William Archbold 22.1 an arable field on the farm
Wently Knowe Mr. Thomas Dickson, of Newhamhall. (Origin of
Pasturehill name unknown)
