Middle Golden Pot Mr Bell Alwinton a square hole in its centre, in
Middle Golden Pot Mr Blacklock Harbottle which once stood a stone cross
or pillar. It is supposed to have
been erected in commemoration
of some border skirmish, or more
probably the fall of some particular
individual at that spot as there
are similar stones in the county
which are known to be have been
erected for that purpose
