AD FINES CAMPS Mr. Telford, Blindburn. the River Coquet. the work of the ancient Romans the
AD FINES CAMPS Mr. Thompson, Bygate Hall. most northerly camp is about 450 links
Camps Tithe Plan. by 950 links. it consists of a rampart
and Fosse, the Fosse is nearly obliterated,
with the exception of the northern side
where it is quite visible.
The western Camp consists of a rampart
and Ditch, only small portions of the North
South and West sides are visible, the
north west corner is quite defaced. it
appears to have been caused by drainage.
A gateway on the west side is in a very
good state of preservation.
The Camp within this last and the best
preserved occupies the principal eminence.
it is nearly square and consists of a deep
ditch also gateways on each of its sides the
