Biddle Stone Mr Brown Biddleston of Biddlestone states that these stones were
Biddle Stone Mr G. R. Turnbull. Harbottle village anciently Known as "Battle
stones". Now corrupted to
Biddle stone. They were
erected to Commemorate one
of the numerous bloody Frays
Between the Borderers. The
Western one has been hollowed
out and evidently held a Cross.
