St Michael’s Church St Michaels Church Revd Court Granville MA About 150 links SE An elegant stone edifice consisting of
(Perl Curacy) St Michaels Church F. Holland Esqr of Painter Hill Nave Chancel and two side Aisles. It is a
St Michaels Church Robert Tate Esqr spacious Gothic Building having recently
St Michaels Church Engraved on Brass Plate in Nave of Church underwent considerable repairs and was
reopened for divine service on Thursday November
19th 1863. The year in which it was erected cannot
be precisely ascertained though from the style
of its architecture and from the arms of the
Vesey Family being on different parts and the
arms of Percy on one of the caps of the pillars
it is pretty well known to have been about the year
1300. The Church is dedicated to St Michael
The living is a Perpetual Curacy and His Grace
the Duke of Northumberland is the Patron
Painter Hill Painter Hill F Holland Esqr About 150 links N.W. A very slight eminence near the head of Canon
Painter Hill Robert Tate Esqr of St Michaels Church Gate on which is erected a small row of
Painter Hill Name on corner (cut on stone) dwelling houses to which the name at present
applies
