both built about 1350 the other
Ancient parts were built about
1434, the whole has of course
been often repaired the two
greatest being by the 1st Duke about
1760 when the Keep was repaired
& partly rearranged, several detached
buildings in the Wards destroyed &
and again during the last 10
years the present Duke has nearly
remodeled the whole being careful
to preseve preserve all that was
Antique, thus the Keep has had
the massive Prudhoe Tower added
keeping the appearance of the Early
Edwards Castle externally but
transforming it internally into
