(Outer) (Outer) extensive Moor on the west &
Alnwick Moor Mr Robert Harvey south west of Alnwick. a large
Alnwick Moor Mr Thomas Gibson portion of which has of late years
been inclosed and reclaimed, and is now in a good
state of Cultivation. The above Moor
is the property of the Freemen of
Alnwick. Duke of Northumberland
being Lord of the Manor.
Black Burn Black Burn Mr Richard Pringle 54 Chains East Has its rise at Redside
Black Burn Mr Robert Harvey of Townlaw cairn on the western extremity of
Black Burn Mr Thomas Gibson Alnwick Moor and flows
in a South Westerly direction
Townlaw Letch Townlaw Letch Mr Richard Pringle 26 Chains East A small stream having its
Townlaw Letch Mr Robert Harvey of Townlaw Cairn rise at the eastern base of Townlaw
Townlaw Letch Mr Thomas Gibson Cairn and flowing in an easterly
Townlaw Letch F Holland Esqr direction until it enters the
Townlaw Letch W Elliot Moor Bailiff Black Burn. At this place
once a year 25th April the laws
of the Town of Alnwick were read
to the Freemen
hence the name
