to the erection of this bridge the place
was known by the name of "Carters
Ford", hence the present name.

Finger Burn Mr Thos Parker, Shellacres 10.1 & on the farm of Grindon Ridge
Mr Alexr Jefferey 10.2 and flowing in a westerly course
falls into the River Till.

Fingerburn Plantation Thos Parker 10.1 wood through which Finger Burn
Alexr Jefferey flows – hence the name. The property
