Camp Camp (Remains of) Ralph Carr Esqr., Hedgeley. On Sheet An encampment consisting of two
(Remains of) (Member of the Antiquarian Society) 29. 4 rings, and composed of stones, now
Camp (Remains of) Revd. James Allgood Rector, almost level with the surface, in
Ingram. connection with which is a number of old
Camp (Remains of) Revd. G. S. Thomson, vicar, foundations, some of which appear to be
Alnham. the remains of buildings, and the
entrance seems to have been through an
entrenchment, and opening, facing the
East. A little distance to the N. East of this
Camp, are the remains of some excavations,
partly defended by ramparts, and interspersed
with small Circles, the whole being generally
supposed, to be the remains of an Ancient
British town, or settlement – situated south
of Grieve’s Ash, and adjacent to Linho[pe]
